About Us.
St. Peter Claver Pilgrimages (SPCP) is dedicated to offering a first-class group travel experience centered around the life and mission of Saint Peter Claver, with custom itineraries to Barcelona, Rome, Colombia, and more. We are owned and operate by members of the Knights and Ladies of Peter Claver, Inc. and are yearly committed donors to the organization.
Our core travel values are based upon spirituality, adventure, education, and fellowship to create a unique travel experience.
At SPCP, we offer spiritually enriching group pilgrimages centered on the life, legacy, and mission of St. Peter Claver—the patron saint of justice and compassion. Our itineraries take travelers to sacred sites across Europe and Latin America, offering a meaningful journey rooted in Catholic tradition, fellowship, and purpose. For those unable to travel, we also support a growing online prayer community, where over 500 prayer intentions have been submitted and more than 50 virtual candles have been lit in faith. Every intention is honored, with select candles ceremoniously lit in Rome as a spiritual bridge for those praying from afar.
Experience the mission. Live the journey. Travel in faith. #clavertravels #claverfamily

As part of our mission-driven travel, St. Peter Claver Pilgrimages proudly supports the Knights of Peter Claver, Inc.—the largest historically Black Catholic organization in the United States. Much like the Knights of Columbus, this fraternal order is rooted in service, faith, and unity.
Founded in 1909, the Knights of Peter Claver promote civic and spiritual leadership, social justice, and community engagement. Their commitment to uplifting the underserved, championing youth development, and strengthening the Black Catholic community reflects the very heart of Saint Peter Claver’s mission to serve the forgotten.
Through every journey, we honor their legacy and support their ongoing work across parishes and communities nationwide.
About Saint Peter Claver
Saint Peter Claver was born in Verdu, Catalonia, Spain, (1580-1654), to impoverished parents descended from distinguished families. He studied at the Jesuit college of Barcelona and entered the Jesuit novitiate at Tarragona in 1602. While studying philosophy at Majorca, Saint Peter Claver was influenced by Saint Alphonsus Rodriguez to go to the Indies.
In 1610, he landed at Cartagena (Colombia), the principal slave market of the New World. After his ordination in 1616, he dedicated himself by special vow to the service of the Negro slaves, a work that was to last for 40 years. He labored unceasingly for the salvation of the African slaves and the abolition of the Negro slave trade, and the love he lavished on them was something that transcended the natural order. Through his efforts, thousands have enter entered the Church.
